A tale of two recording studios...
When I started working as a musician, recording was the holy grail. What everyone wanted to do but only an elite few could actually manage. Especially if you wanted quality recordings. Once upon a time you had to either pay to go to a big studio or DIY it yourself and it showed.
The thing is, it's not that way anymore. Now we have so many options to record quality music and at a much more cost effective level. So....why are people still picking between the two options?
A lot of musicians seem to think, "I'll spend as little as possible just to get something recorded." I've been there and done that. I realized quite quickly that the quality was something i was ashamed to play for friends. So i looked into big studios. They must know what they're doing right? They do, but here's the dirty little secret about a lot of big studios: unless you can pay the highest price tag that they are used to, they really don't care about your music.
Far too many times have I heard horror stories of going to larger studios and coming out with GREAT sounding recordings....they just don't sound like the same band that went in. I got tired of this all or nothing approach.
At Red Rabbit our focus is your focus, your music. That's why we travel to your practice or show before you record. We want to make sure we understand your sound fully before you even set foot near a microphone. We approach every band like family. When you come to record, you're coming into my home to my personal studio. The same studio I invite my closest friends and family to record in.
We take the time to learn why you are making the music you do. After all, if you've spent this much time working on it, wouldn't you want the person preparing it to share with the world to at least show the same effort?
To that end, we're going to use this platform to help clear the fog regarding recording. Whether it comes to technical aspects or mentally preparing yourself, or just knowing each step of the process and how it works together. If we can help people put more music into the world than that's our goal achieved. so keep on making music.
